No matter the result (other than zero or less of course) you'll get something advantageous to you for only two mana
once you get out of the first few turns, a lot of them will become very low impact
I have sided it in against Death & Taxes in the past as extra hate for Aether Vial , but since the printing of Outland Liberator and Knight of Autumn , that role has largely been made redundant
Most importantly, Elas vastly outperforms commanders such as Ayli, Eternal Pilgrim and Killian, Ink Duelist in a deck with Lurrus of the Dream-Den as the companion
In the Limited formats, where players aren't restricted to a maximum of four copies of a card per deck, they can both be immensely dangerous to play against
Maybe thats because pretending to fight giant scorpions and the Kraken was just the thing for my friends and me on those long summer evenings when it gets dark before your bedtime
